Risky Writing

My parents are polar opposites; completely compatible polar opposites.  My dad says the higher the risk, the greater the fall.  My mom lives by the philosophy that the greater the risk, the higher you will soar.  As I sit here debating whether to add a certain controversial thread to my manuscript, I can't help but wonder which of my parents is right.

  2. Ooo, tough call there. But I say go for it. Writers are notorious for bringing up controversial subjects. The scarier thing would be to censor your creativity or your voice cuz it MIGHT be controversial.

    1. I never though of it as censoring my creativity, but you are so right. Risk it is.

  3. Well, I'd say go with it and see where it takes you, then if you don't like it, take it out. You can't fix (or be rewarded by) what you do write.

    1. And you, my dear, are going to be the one to tell me if it went horribly wrong. And Congrats on the pub contract! I can't tell you how excited I am for you!
