SWEET MADNESS E-BOOK BLITZ

What do you do when your publisher tells you the e-book version of your YA Historical is dropping in 5 weeks in advance of the hardback?!?  You celebrate...because now you can party twice!!! And to share our excitement, we've put together an e-book blitz and a giveaway!

E-book Release Date: August 7. 2015
Hardback Release Date; September 15, 2015
“This thrilling novel will keep readers on their toes until the last page. Fans of historical fiction and horror will thoroughly enjoy this book.” (VOYA magazine)

"The portrait of the claustrophobic, creepy Borden household and its denizens, Lizzie especially, is grippingly vivid." (Kirkus)

"Dark, creepy and overall fantastically moody; SWEET MADNESS remains firmly entrenched in the Hitchcock side of horror." (Fangirlish)

"If you ever had a job from hell, just multiple it by ten . . . and throw in a disturbingly creepy spinster named Lizzie and a sampling of homicidal genetic madness. THAT was Bridget's life and it's what makes Trisha Leaver and Lindsay Currie's fiction retelling of the infamous Lizzie so bloody brilliant - the idea of a curse and the possibility that Lizzie wasn't entirely mad. " (K.R. Conway, Author of the UNDERTOW series)

“A retelling of the infamous Borden Murders told from the POV of Lizzie’s Irish maid, Bridget Sullivan”

Seventeen-year-old Bridget Sullivan is alone in Fall River, a city that sees Irish immigrants as nothing more than a drunken drain on society. To make matters worse, she's taken employment with the city’s most peculiar and gossip-laden family—the Bordens. But Bridget can’t afford to be picky—the pay surpasses any other job Bridget could ever secure and she desperately needs the money to buy her little sister, Cara, passage to the states. It doesn’t hurt that the job location is also close to her beau, Liam. As she enters the disturbing inner workings of the Borden household, Bridget clings to these advantages.

However, what seemed like a straightforward situation soon turns into one that is untenable. Of course Bridget has heard the gossip around town about the Bordens, but what she encounters is far more unsettling. The erratic, paranoid behavior of Mr. Borden, the fearful silence of his wife, and worse still…the nightly whisperings Bridget hears that seem to come from the walls themselves.

When Bridget makes a horrifying discovery in the home, all that she thought she knew about the Bordens is called into question…including if Lizzie is dangerous. And the choice she must make about Lizzie’s character could mean Bridget’s life or death.

FEELING THE VOYA LOVE

Trade reviews are important to authors for a variety of reasons. Not only can they help your book get noticed in the school and library market, but in an industry filled with rejection, a positive review is a form of validation to many of us. A head-nod that the months...years of creativity we poured into our work has not gone unnoticed.

There is one trade review that I wait on each time my ARC's go out: VOYA (Voice of Youth Advocates) They area a huge supporter of specialized YA Library Services, believe that teens should have equal access to information, and believe youth involvement in libraries, schools and communities is critical.

So... you can imagine how thrilled I was when their review of SWEET MADNESS can in!

SWEET MADNESS COVER REVEAL AND GIVEAWAY!

SWEET MADNESS
Coming September 18, 2015 from Merit Press

Lizzie Borden took an axe,
And gave her mother forty whacks.
When she saw what she had done,
She gave her father forty one.

BLURB:
Who was Lizzie Borden? A confused young woman, or a cold-hearted killer? For generations, people all over the world have wondered how Andrew Borden and his second wife, Abby, met their gruesome deaths. Lizzie, Andrew’s younger daughter, was charged, but a jury took only 90 minutes to find her not guilty. In this retelling, the family maid, Bridget Sullivan, shines a compassionate light on a young woman oppressed by her cheap father and her ambitious stepmother. Was Lizzie mad, or was she driven to madness?
