DIFFERENT KIND OF KNIGHT BLOG TOUR

Different Kind of Knight

Through a twist of fate, Princess Gabrielle became First Knight of the King’s Elite Guard, a position always held by the second born male. She's spent years proving to the Minsters of Faldaera she is capable of leading the king’s Army.

When mythical creatures plague her kingdom, Rielle is sent to capture Captain Brody, the alleged culprit behind the attacks and the man who broke her heart four years ago.

Brody, Crown Prince of Delphine, is living in self-imposed exile, atoning for the sins of his father. But Fate has different plans for him. Tired, beaten down, and ready to give up on life, he is tossed into the path of the one person he would do anything for―Princess Gabrielle.

With a traitor in her ranks, and a mark on her head, Brody joins forces with Rielle, hoping to keep the woman he loves safe. Happily-ever-after is not guaranteed, and mythical creatures aren’t the only danger the couple face. As battles rage, Rielle has the chance to prove herself a capable leader, but will doing so cost her the love of her life?

A Peek Inside a Gathering with Princess Kaylee, Lady Bri and Princess Gabrielle

After listening to the princes’ talk, I wandered back to my room, but still felt restless. A look through the glass doors leading to a secluded balcony revealed a beautiful flower garden, filled with colorful blooms.

I hurried downstairs, only getting turned around twice on my journey, and made my way into what I learned was the Rose garden. As soon as I inhaled, I could see why. The scent of roses surrounded me. There were roses of every size, color, and variety imaginable (and a few I'm sure were magical!)

It seemed I wandered around the garden, oohing and ahhing over each new find, for hours. Laughter and quiet conversation drew my attention, and I moved closer, peering out from behind a rose tree. There, at a wrought iron table, sat Princesses Kaylee, Bri, and Rielle, sharing a pot of tea. Kaylee wore a lovely blue gown, while Bri and Rielle were wearing dark brown leathers. Kaylee's blonde hair hung in loose curls to her waist. The wind tugged at Bri's red curls, pulling them free from her braid, while Rielle's blonde hair was neatly pinned in place, not a single escaping her tight braid.

I turned to leave, when Princess Rielle saw me and waved me over. Not wanting to be rude, I accepted the invitation to join them for a spot of tea.

Kaylee: I'm so glad you came. The three of us have been so excited to meet you.

Me: (blushing) That's so sweet of you. I've been so excited to be here. Ever since I got the invitation from Prince Trevor I couldn't wait for the day to arrive.

Kaylee: (chuckling) Actually, I sent the invitation.

Me: Oh, well thank you. I'm glad to get a chance to know you all a bit more.

Kaylee: Well, it was a bit selfish of me. See, I wanted company, and wasn't sure these two would show up. (looks at Rielle) Especially you, given the way things have been in Faldaera for the last few months.

Rielle: (shudders) Don't remind me. There's so much of the last three months I'd like to forget.

Bri: Trust me, forgetting the past isn't as good as it sounds.

Kaylee: I guess you'd know that for certain.

Bri: (nods) Not something I'm likely to forget anytime soon. At least not with some magical help.

Rielle: (smiles in apology) Sorry, I didn't think about that.

Bri: No harm done. I just wouldn't wish a blank past on anyone. Not even Arabella.

Kaylee: (shudders) Nor would I. I wish there was something I could do to help Devlin deal with her betrayal. If only she didn't hate him so much. (sighs)

Rielle: Perhaps there is more at work, as there was in my kingdom. You never know when someone will abuse the power of magic.

Bri: Seems it's abused more often than not, if one were to look at our tales and judge at least.

(All three nod in agreement.)

Kaylee: True. I never thought I'd tell my children the tale of me saving their father from a spell, or that I was the first of us to ride a dragon. (looks toward the distant mountains, a small smile hovering on her lips)

Bri: (sighs and looks at the ring on her finger) And I never knew the answer to uncovering my charmed memories lay with the one man I thought I could never have.

Kaylee: And what about you, Rielle?

Rielle: Believe me when I say I never expected to fall at Brody's feet, but, that's exactly what happened. Literally and figuratively.

(They all laugh)

Bri: I'm glad. He needed that after all he's been through. I can't tell you how worried I was about him.

Kaylee: Arranged marriage or not, I knew the moment I saw Devlin I'd fallen in love. How about you?

Bri: Oh, I definitely had feelings from the moment I met Trevor, but I convinced myself I could never be in love. Not with a prince, when I was almost a servant. What about you, Rielle?

Rielle: (laughs) Which time? The first time we met, I lost a bit of my heart. In fact, I thought he might forgo his arranged marriage and offer for me. But, clearly, he didn't. Still, when I saw him the next time...

Kaylee, Bri, and Me: Yes?

Rielle: (smiles) Well, I guess you'll just have to read the story and see!

    1. LOL! Well, they can't all be drool-worthy. Although maybe a guy will chime in and say if they found the ladies drool-worthy.
