I have decided, after much deliberation, that apple pie is a perfectly acceptable breakfast food. It is essentially dough and fruit. Think of it like a pancake stuffed with apples. I mean, it's got to be better for you than a sausage biscuit, right?
What does this have to do with writing? Absolutely nothing, save the fact that I have been feeling quite guilty about giving my kids apple pie for breakfast and said guilt is greatly interfering with my muse. So, in an effort to rid myself of guilt and the temptation to give them more pie tomorrow morning, I see no other alternative but to eat the rest of the pie myself.
I had bbq chips for breakfast today. I'm fairly positive there is nothing of value in that meal.
ReplyDeleteHmm . . . so potatoes are a starch, so that could be like hash browns. As for the BBQ flavor, I don't know what to tell you there.
DeleteI approve of this. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL, somehow I knew you would.
DeleteLOL! It goes right along with Chocolate Cake for Breakfast- at least Bill Cosby said that was good for breakfast as it hits almost all the four food groups.
ReplyDeleteAt least you are feeding the kids, so your muse can stop feeling guilty and let yo get to work writing awesome stories!
Dad is great; he gives us chocolate cake.
DeleteThis made me laugh. Enjoy that pie!!
ReplyDeletePS I think it's a perfectly wonderful breakfast.
I ate the whole thing. Right out of the pan. No plate, no serving knife, just the pie dish and a fork.
ReplyDeleteMmmm...pie for breakfast. I see no problem with that at all. Of course, I'm pregnant, so lots of things sound good for breakfast :) Cans of whip cream, for instance. Carrot cake.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! And well whipped cream is a dairy product, and you do need the extra calcium for the little one, so all is good :)
ReplyDeleteTrisha, pie is always acceptable for any meal. As is Twinkies (yes, I eat twinkies often after I drop the kids off at school. I feel I need no justification:)
ReplyDeleteYou need to expand from Twinkies to Yodels. Trust me on this one!
DeleteI love the idea of apple pie for breakfast. But then I'd love the idea of a hot fudge sundae for breakfast, so maybe I"m not the best judge...
ReplyDeleteI am laughing because I too would love nothing more then to have a massive sundae for breakfast, lunch, and diner. I will live vicariously through you.
DeleteDon't feel guilty. Your kids LOVED having that apple pie for breakfast!!! They'll cherish that memory forever. It's a way better breakfast dessert than something like doughnuts, which has no nutritional value whatsoever. Apple pie has fruit!! Plus all the love that went into making it. :) Enjoy!!
ReplyDeletePie is a totally acceptable food for any time of day or night. Fruit and carbs are good for the body. What is missing, and please do not deprive your children of their dairy needs, is a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!
ReplyDeleteGotta run, now I'm craving the above.
